A private legal practitioner in Ghana, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has underlined that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo will not hold on to power forever.
The outspoken and renowned lawyer noted that, another political party will eventually take over power someday.
When speaking on the Mra Ne Abramu Nsem on Wuntumi television, he advised that political power has never been a prerogative of a single political party and that is why Ghana in practicing democracy goes to the polls every four years go to elect different crop of leaders.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw who was advising political parties on their conducts intimated that, winning political power does not mean the entire country belongs to winner alone.
He added that, the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its current leadership have so far refused to show any seriousness, which suggests they are ready to take over power anytime soon from the NPP.
“I want to say that, the NPP and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo will not stay in power forever. Whether they like it or not, they will one day vacate power for another political party to take over the affairs of the country, but are they ready for this, with the kind of attitude some of its leadership are parading. Look at what Sammy Gyamfi did over the weekend, throwing himself on Kwame Sefa Kayi. A big platform like Peace Fm and you are there disrespecting the brand. How would Ghanaians take you serious and vote for you to come to power. So, when you get the power is this what you will do to Ghanaians. Bear in Mind that, Nana Akufo Addo will not stay in power forever so the NDC must prepare well in opposition to take over when the time comes”. Lawyer Maurice Ampaw noted.
