A lawyer cum lecturer, Justice Abdullah has boldly stated unequivocally that President Akufo-Addo should apologise to the whole country owing to the rambo-style arrest of Caleb Kudah and Zoe Abu-Baidoo of CITI FM/TV.
The legal practitioner made this statement on TV3 on Wednesday 12th May, 2021.
The Lecturer cum lawyer is of the firm believe that President Akuffo Addo should make a pronouncement that he does not support the uncivilised act.
He stated, ” there should be unanimity from the citizens of Ghana in condemning this uncivilised act. An apology should come from the president. He should make a pronouncement that he does not support acts like these. If not, there is going to be a resounding infractions on our rights”.
Justice Abdullah further claimed in his statement that the act by the National Security feeds into the culture of silence.
” I was shocked. They could have used a civilised way to deal with the situation. I am saying this without mincing further words that, this would remain the status quo”.
The host of TV3’s Newday, Johnny Hughes also topped up that this is the time President Akufo-Addo needs to show solidarity with the media fraternity.
“This is time to show solidarity, Mr President. You chair the National Security Committee. It includes prominent persons like the Vice President, Chief of Defence Staff, the Inspector General of Police among others”.
