A seasoned Barrister cum Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana Lawyer Ralph Opoku-Adusei has heightened efforts on empowering youth within the enclave Bekwai Municipality of Ashanti region through a project dubbed “Amansie Youth Project 2023”.
Close to over 500 youth have so far gained from the initiative which focuses on equipping beneficiaries with hard skills training covering courses including making of washing detergents, shower gel, shampoo, bio digester toilet facility, liquid soap, beads, parazon, conditioner, hair food among others.
First batch of trainees numbering 234 were carried through a free 3-day intensive skills training on the above-mentioned areas and graduated successfully on Thursday 28th April 2023.
Certificates were awarded to them as a mark of a successful completion of training.
The project is the brain-child of Mr. Ralph Opoku-Adusei.
The project is implemented through a collaboration with Gateway Training Enterprise.
A platform was created by implementors of the project for trainees to showcase some of their products at the event.
At the occasion, the much talked about Lawyer Ralph Opoku-Adusei who also holds an astute position as a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, UK presented a cash of GH 1,000 each to two trainees who are Persons with Disability namely Akwasi Appiah (40 years old) and Vincent Ametepe ( 27 years old).
In his address Ralph Opoku-Adusei admonished the beneficiaries to utilize the skills they have acquired effectively as they channel them into a career, adding that they have received a knowledge and a skill which cannot be taken from them.
He pledged to continue supporting all persons within the enclave of the Municipality who are ready to learn a vocation for a living.
The legal practitioner urged them not to be discouraged in life since what they have learned will yield much benefits for them.
