“We were beaten and forced to drink our urine”…minister threatens prosecution

Zimbabwe’s minister incharge of Justice has vowed to prosecute three female opposition members who allege they were arrested and then abducted from police custody and sexually assaulted.

Accoring to their claims, they were beaten and forced to drink each other’s urine.

The three, plus an MP, are receiving medical treatment in hospital for their injuries.

According to the Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi, the story was framed by the women just to divert attention from the fact that they broke lockdown rules by attending a protest.

They should be arrested for violating rules aimed at stopping the spread of coronavirus, he said.
