Wahala!!! COCOBOD CEO Under Pressure As Farmers Plan Demo Against NPP Gov’t Come 1st December

 

 

A Press briefing held in Kumasi on Wednesday 3rd November 2021 by aggrieved Cocoa farmers has assumed a shocking twist as they (farmers) have sworn heaven and earth to stage a massive protest against NPP and COCOBOD officials.

Should government fail to address their welfare and properly effect measures to ensure the smooth implementation of their pension scheme before 1st December 2021, they have announced
to boycott all National Farmers’ Day events.

The angry farmers have also vowed to suspend the selling of their Cocoa beans to government and for that matter Produce Buying Company (PBC) including all their farm produce on the various markets.

Addressing the media in Kumasi, the National President for Ghana National Cocoa Farmers Association (GNACOFA) Mr. Anane Boateng Stephenson disclosed that they will have no option than to stage their intended national protest as a way of registering their displeasure against the status-quo.

At the press briefing, the kicked against the decision by officials of COCOBOD to carry out the implementation of their pension scheme through the newly inaugurated Board of Trustees.
