That is Demotion: You Can’t Make Oppong Nkrumah Deputy Minister

President of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Franklin Cudjoe has made an indication that it will be a demotion to make Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah a Deputy Minister.

According to the statement of Mr. Cudjoe, the 2nd term of the Akufo Addo administration should have more competent ministers, and that cannot be done without factoring Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

Mr. Franklin Cudjoe was speaking on the TV3’s Key Points program this Saturday, January 16, 2020.

According to him, he is reliably informed that Kojo Oppong Nkrumah might be made a Deputy Minister to Ursula Owusu in the Communications Ministry.

He underlined that such kind of position will be a demotion to the performance of Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah at the information ministry.

“I would like to see Kojo Oppong Nkrumah leading a Ministry. He performed very well in the information Ministry he led.

I have heard he is being made to be a Deputy Minister to the communication Ministry. It is not appropriate to do so to a young man who performed very well.

Even at that, he is being asked to be a Deputy Minister to a Ministry that had question marks on its performance. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah deserves more than that”. Mr. Franklin Cudjoe said.

There are other rumors suggesting Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is being made to be the official spokesperson to the President.

Reacting to this, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe challenged that, explaining that it will be a much lower role for Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

“He cannot also be the official spokesperson to the President because Eugene Arhin is already doing that even though he only writes speeches.

But that is even a much lower role. I don’t think I would like to see Oppong Nkrumah doing not just that. In my eyes, I think that will be a demotion to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah. I would like to see him getting things done”. Mr. Franklin Cudjoe said.
