Strong letter from a teacher to Akuffo Addo. “Stop slaying private schools”

“If little else, the brain is an educational toy”. -Tom Robbins

Mr. President, with all due respect, the private schools in our developing country cannot be slayed amidst COVID-19. The gates to the pandemic are now opened. Government schools are operating though not all levels. Due to employment agreement, government workers including teachers are still enjoying their salaries and allowances meanwhile private schools and their workers are waving hands to survive.

Your Excellency, humbly, in your 16th address, you intentionally forgot the private schools and their workers. They cannot be left out in this abnormal situation. Please, listen with good heart and address their request quickly. I believe you have answered this call on its way. They’re really struggling especially those renting apartment to run their affairs.

I am a concern citizen of Ghana.

Signed
