A resolution has been effected by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the extension of an arms embargo on South Sudan.
On Friday, officials of the council extended the embargo to May next year including a travel ban and financial sanctions for targeted individuals.
The United States-drafted document received 12 votes in favour on Friday, with Russia, China and South Africa abstaining.
In addition to that, UNSC slated a midterm review of the measures which will take effect by 15th December.
Readiness was also expressed as in considering adjusting measures including through modifying, suspending, lifting or strengthening.
