Lawyers of the Acting City Mayor for Kumasi Metropolis Hon Osei Assibey are demanding a public retraction of what they have described as a defamatory statement made by Mr. Kusi Bofo against the KMA Boss.
Per the content of a letter issued by solicitors of the Mayor, Mr. Kusi Boafo (CEO for Public Sector Reforms) in his appearance on a radio program on Oman Fm in Accra, on Thursday 27th May 2021 made “plethora of statements and comments which are not only unfortunate but defamatory” which on the premise of legal interpretation cast a slur on his (KMA Boss) earned reputation.
Solicitors gave reference that, Mr. Kusi Boafo on the said program said “Osei Assibey says he has given money to Kennedy Agyapong to be given to me as bribe”.

He is also alleged to have said that on the program that “Osei Assibey has rented all radio stations including ASH FM and placed people on them to verbally abuse me (Mr. Kusi Boafo).”
Lawyers have given the CEO of Public Sector Reforms to render an apology and make a public retraction on the above within a grace period of 14 days. They are saying that they will effect a legal action against the government officials if he fails to adhere to their demand.
An unedited extract of the letter dated 29th May 2021 and signed by KOFFIE ÂND PARTNERS (Solicitors) reads; “Regarding your numerous other ranting and palpable sympathetic attention seeking comments made about our client on the said programme, our client considers them underserving of response and leaves that to the discerning public to assess.
However, in regard to the afore-stated defamatory comments made by you on the said programme, we have the instruction of our client to demand their public retraction and an apology within fourteen (14) days from the date of this letter and we so demand.
Be notified that if you fail to adhere to this our simple but firm demand, we shall proceed to adopt the ancillary instructions of our client to institute legal action in a court of competent jurisdiction to seek appropriate redress.“
