Decision by members of a group called Concerned Youth of Suame Constituency to stage a demonstration against the sitting Member of Parliament at Suame Magazine; a prominent industrial hub in Ashanti region has come under a tough opposition.
The upcoming protest against Hon Kyei Mensah Bonsu who is the MP is premised on the latter’s failure to fix bad roads in the area among other challenges which the group claim are suffocating residents.
Executives of Ghana National Association of Garages have objected to the move and have vowed to disallow the group from staging the protest in the area since the industrial hub is not meant for the staging of demonstrations.
According to the Vice Chairman Alhaji Luqman Nuhu Mohammed, “any of such political activities should be held outside the Magazine industrial enclave.
In a strong rebuttal, the vice chairman brought to notice that bad roads over which the so called group have planned a protest is even under construction through the instrumentality of the sitting MP. He therefore called on all artisans to exercise patience and co-operate with the contractor.
“Again we are informing all artisans that the months ahead of us to December are election months and Magazine is an industrial area so we need peace so everybody should comport him or herself.”, he stated in the press statement.
