The National Service Scheme through the visionary leadership of the Chief Executive, Hon Osei Assibey has harvested 560 bags of maize via the SKEEP project.
Hon Osei Assibey, who doubles as the former Kumasi City Mayor has sealed discussions with the Ministry of Education and is set to provide the harvested produce for distribution to schools.
The decision perfectly aligns with the government’s mission to ensure students receive quality nutrition.
NSS officials are equally committed to supporting the Poultry Farmers Association by supplying them with produce from the SKEEP initiative.
The foregoing reflects NSS’s broader mission as government agency to contribute to national programs.
In an interview with www.leakynews.net, the NSS Boss Hon Osei Assibey said “NSS represents more than an institution; it signifies a platform for transformation, growth and advancement. Our collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Poultrymen Farmers Association underscores our dedication to national development.
As we work towards our objectives, we remain steadfast in our belief that through the NSS SKEEP initiative, we will not only enhance Ghana’s food security but also make education more accessible and affordable for our youth”.
SKEEP’s goal is to equip young generation with practical agriculture skills, with a specific focus on hands-on training in livestock rearing and crop cultivation.
The journey has already begun on a 4,000-acre piece of land.
