Hon Nii Larteh Ollenu has lamented over how some Ghanaian youth abandon their communities and seek for jobs outside the country.

The Amansie West DCE is of the opinion that numerous opportunities have been made available by the NPP government which they (Ghanaian youth) can harness to their economic advantage.

Speaking at the district’s version of the 38th National Farmers Day Celebration, he decried how the above has posture has greatly affected the farming profession in Ghana.

“The situation where the youth abandon their communities to seek greener pastures elsewhere has left farming in many communities to the aged”.

The government official however indicated that in many instances, the reason they exited their communities is never realized because “Nowhere cool”.

“The sad thing is that the dreams of the youth for leaving their communities are never met because “no where cool”.

I wish therefore to appeal to our youth to take advantage of the government’s numerous interventions and consider farming as a big-time lucrative venture.”
