new voters register; UPP Odike cautions EC and political parties on new machines

Founder, National Chairman and leader for the United Progressive Party UPP Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike has sent a strong warning to executives of the various political parties in Ghana vis-à-vis the compilation of the new voters’ register.

In an exclusive dialogue with leakynews.net, the outspoken leader for the opposition party gave a piercing caution that any political party that connives with the Electoral Commission of Ghana to manipulate new machines procured for the exercise will be exposed by him.  He again vowed to follow it up with the necessary legal action.

The popular businessman-turned-politician said a ‘bird’ has whispered into his ears that some political figures are hatching plots to influence officials of EC to adjust  the operation of the machinery to their electoral advantage.

“No party in Ghana should attempt a collaboration with the EC to manipulate the machines vis-à-vis the new voters registration exercise.  I will expose them”, he warned toughly.

Mr. Odike said he and his team are carefully monitoring all processes with an eagle eye.

“I am advising the EC Chairperson to see to it that the operation of the commission is totally isolated from all forms of political influence especially in this crucial moment”.
