Ashanti regional Minister Hon Simon Osei Mensah has lashed the NDC over how they poorly handled developmental affairs of the region when they were in power.
In his usual defensive posture, the NPP stalwart minister said on Friday that the NDC during their tenure abandoned the lake road extension project all because it was sited in Ashanti region.
He recalled that “President Kuffour started negotiating with Allianz France for them to continue with the lake road extension. For eight years the NDC abandoned it because it is in Ashanti region…When NPP took over, within the first six months we accessed loan and gave it to CHICO to start with the construction”.
Making the disclosure on Adom Tv program dubbed “one-on-one” hosted by Daakyehene Nana Yaw Asante, he made a shocking disclosure that former President John Dramani Mahama cut sod on the 5th December 2016 for the construction of the 2nd phase of the Kumasi International Airport when no finance agreement had been signed.
“..They (NDC) should come and challenge me on this. No finance agreement had been signed. The project had been approved in parliament but no finance agreement had been singed but he went ahead to cut sod”, he fingered.
