NBU Project: Asokore Mampong Women Undergo Free Health Screening

Women of Asokore Mampong Municipality have benefitted from day’s free health screening exercise held under the auspices of the No Business as Usual (NBU) Project.

The screening covered diseases including breast cancer, hepatitis, blood pressure, blood sugar level etc.

In addition to the foregoing was a physiotherapy- all carried out by medics who were invited by the leadership of the project.

The event happened on Sunday 15th May 2021 at the forecourt of the old palace of Asokore Mampong.

It was held in partnership with Peace and Love Hospital together with Arise and Shine fun club.

As part of the package, health education on breast cancer and hypertension was given to participants before they underwent the screening.

On the former, Matron for Peace and Love Hospital Comfort Boateng sensitized the gathering on the nature of breast cancer, predisposing factors, symptoms, medical processes victims undergo during treatment.

In her statement, she advised women on the need to set a day aside monthly for the screening of their breast at the right health facility.

At the event, NBU Project coordinator Roberta Aryetey used the occasion to inform them on some of the goals, objectives and the impact the project has made so far.
