The NASA Astronomers gave a confirmation that an asteroid will be close to the earth orbit or pass by the earth orbit on Thursday, 8th October 2020.
According to NASA this asteroid is Officially called the 2020 SX3 and it is heading towards earth.
Though, there is no proper look for where this asteroid is falling to yet.
However, the good news here is that this space rock is about 38 and 86 meters across according to NASA. It’s no doubt, this is about the size of three double decker bus. Either ways, our good news here is that, this space rock is confirmed to swing pass our home planet (Earth) with no chance of a direct hit despite it’s heading towards earth.
NASA confirmed that the asteroid will fly by at a distance of 1.7 million kilometers and this is close enough to be considered as a Near Earth Object (NEO). Again the asteroid will be traveling at a mind blowing 10.88 kilometers per seconds which is about 40,000 kilometers per hour.
NASA further explain what (NEO) is/are by saying that (NEO’s) are asteroids and comets that have been nudged by gravitational attraction of nearby planets into orbits that allow them to enter the Earth.
