Nana Agyenim Boateng, the much celebrated Chief for Amoaman, a town located within the administrative jurisdiction of Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly has given out a colossal number of food items to households and families within the community.
Through a collaboration with the Manhyia Palace, he made a presentation of the reliefe items yesterday 8th April 2020 to heads of the various families in front of the old palace.
They included 208 pieces of mini bags of rice (5 kilos), 208 pieces of tomato pastes, 208 pieces tinned mackerel, 208 hand sanitizers, 208 bottles of cooking oil and 208 chocolate drinks.
The dispensing was supervised by Manhyia Palace Relief team, Mr. Owusu Ansah-an opinion leader for the community and some elders of the renowned Chief of Amaoman.
Extension of the relief support by Nana Agyenim Boateng to the various families was triggered into motion consequent to the imposition of a lockdown on persons residing in parts of Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi under a presidential directive.
Few days after the lockdown took effect on 30 March 2020, government of Ghana through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Local Government and Rural Development and the National Disaster Management Organization begun a free distribution of meals to over 400,000 Ghanaians in locked-down areas amidst the COVID-19 outbreak in Ghana.
The restriction in movement has however brought a level of hardship to affected residents since majority who are not classified under those exempted from the restriction are unable to carry out their business.
Nana Agyenim Boateng expressed in a discourse with leakynews.net that the status-quo demands a quick support from him for his people so as to minimize their vulnerability

“This will save many from struggling to fend for themselves as a result of the lockdown”.
