Nana Addo Should Maintain Hon Osei Assibey As KMA Boss, Here Are The Reasons

Some Foot Soldiers of the New Patriotic Party in the Kumasi Metropolis who were Former Members of Delta force, has petitioned President Nana Akuffo Addo to maintain the appointment of Hon Osei Assibey Antwi as the Chief Executive of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.

Since he assumed office, he has not failed once in carrying out his duties and deserves another tenure to complete the initiatives he started. “We are calling on President Akuffo-Addo to maintain him, in order for him to continue the good work he has started in the Metropolis.

Hon Osei Assibbey’s appointment came to an end on January 6 2021 after serving for four successful years in president Akuffo Addo’s first term.

Addressing a press conference at Kumasi monitored by OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng, the group opined that, Hon Osei Assibey during his first four years as the Mayor of Kumasi did well to move farward the development of Kumasi and the cause NPP as a party and so deserves to continue his work.

They added that the nomination of Hon Osei Asibbey Antwi by the president will not only push Kumasi forward but will also maximize the fortunes Kumasi and the interest of NPP faithfuls in the greater Kumasi.

Reading the Petition signed by over 60 persons one of the leading members of the group Kwadwo Owusu said that, as youth group that swears their allegiance to the great NPP, they cannot sit unconcerned without adding their voice to this particularly issue.

He added that they have together with other NPP groups worked for the party to achieve its current unprecedented milestone and so have a duty to guard the Supreme interest of party.

“We have not lost cognisance of the fact that; it is the prerogative of the President to nominate a candidate for approval to occupy the seat at the district level,” the petition said. “We believe, however, that given this input, the President will be in a position to make an informed decision by maintaining Hon Osei Assibey Antwi as the Mayor of Kumasi.”

The petition said such an appointment would be fair, honourable and would create the atmosphere for peace and development within the Metropolis.

The group have therefore appealed to president Akuffo Addo to consider their petition with great concern when appointing new Executives for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies.
