NaBCO brouhaha; “create a workable linkage between recruits and NEIP”- gov’t told

Mr. George Akom , Assistant Registrar for Ghana Technology University College -Kumasi Campus, has called on government to create a workable linkage between the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) and the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) to solidify the agenda of reducing graduate unemployment in the country.

Mr. Akom who is also an Advocate for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Technical and Vocational Education, made this comment at the time he was interacting with leakynews.net in Kumasi.

On his part ”for the programme to achieve its purpose at the highest level, government should create a workable linkage to NEIP so as to serve as a transition or an exit point for NABCO beneficiaries who would want to find immediate jobs after the expiration of their contract with NABCO.

If the programme is properly linked with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP), trainees will fall on some of the modules in the NEIP to create jobs for themselves”, he added.

The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan programme is a flagship policy initiative of the government of Ghana with the primary objective of providing an integrated national support for start-ups and small businesses.

NEIP primarily focuses on providing business development services; startup incubators and funding for young businesses to enable them grow and become successful.
