MFCS Charges Gov’t To Tighten Policies On Rights Of Children

 

 

Muslim Family Counseling Services (MFCS); a non-governmental organisation has charged government to revisit and tighten up policies that focus on the rights of Children.

Child abuse per the assertion of officials of MFCS is still on the rise in some parts of the country.

Coinciding with the celebration of the International Children’s Day, Mohammed Bun Bida, Programs Director for the organization in an interview with www.leakynews.net made reference to a case aired on Oyerepa Fm which involved a 12-year old girl who was sexually abused by a man who is like a grandfather to her.

He told this medium that per the state of affairs, Ghana government must ensure the full implementation of policies of the rights of children including that of UN and Africa Charter.

“Children in Ghana continue to suffer different forms of abuse especially domestic and sexual abuses hence our call for full the implementation of child- friendly policies”, he admonished.

 

He has also called on DOVVSU, child centered CSOs including World Vision, UNISEF to also heighten their efforts in that regard.
