MFCS & Chance for Children save street children in Kumasi…donate food and sanitary items

 

 

Executives of Muslim Family Counseling Services (MFCS) have embarked on another act of charity within some parts of Kumasi Metropolis and Asokore Mampong Municipality.

In conjunction with officials of Chance for Children-a non-governmental organisation, they did a donation today 30th April 2020 to some street connected children in a reach out event at locations including Dagomba line, Goro, Ghana legion(all within Asokore Mampong Municipality) and Asafo (Subin constituency).

The duo supplied food and sanitary items which were acquired through a collective contribution made by MFCS and implementers of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

 

Muslim Family Counseling Services alone contributed 5 bags of rice, 10 bags of gari, 3 bags of beans, 40 sanitisers and 200 nose masks to support the agenda.

Those received from members of SDG were 2 boxes of vitamin C, 50 bottles of cooking oil, 22 pieces of Oyster black Africa soap and 15 bags of rice.

The latter were equally shared between implementors of Street Children Project (Roman Hill) and MFCS for distribution.

The distribution was done in the early hours of the same day.

Briefing leakynews.net, Programs Director for MFSC Sheikh Mohammed Bun Bida shared that the focus of the move was to offer support to street connected children in the wake of covid-19 pandemic.

Premised on their poor condition of living, they saw the need to offer them a rapid intervention that will shield them away from catching the infection, hence the supply of sanitary items.

Foods that were provided he underlined will save them from the heat of economic pressure characterising the moment as they will be spendimg less on food.
