HON. ALIDU SEIDU WRITES:
SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT
It shall be recalled by all well meaning Ghanaians especially the good people of Asokore Mampong Municipality that the Manhyia District Hospital was classified by the erstwhile regime under the Asokore Mampong Municipality even though this health facility was never located within the administrative jurisdiction of the AMMA.

In May, 2017 when I took over as the MCE of AMMA, the municipality could only boast of :
.Sepe Dote Health Centre,
.Boabai Health Centre &
.Sheikh Tawfiq Medical Centre(This was built by the late Sheikh Tawfiq and handed over to government).
Invariably, my team and I ensured that we further boost our health facilities since all that we had was nothing to write home about. Hence, the assembly embarked on but not limited to the construction of the following:
.Asokore Mampong Health Centre
.Parkoso Health Centre
.Asabi Health Centre(90%complete)
.Sawaba Health Centre(revived after it was being abundoned)
.CHPS Zones increased through out the municipality.
Recently, when H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo declared his government intent to construct new district hospitals for some districts in the country, Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly was left out since an erroneous self-illuding impression was already created that Manhyia Hospital was part of the AMMA which is not so. This therefore took me and my team a great deal of effort to fight tooth and nail in drawing the attention of the powers that be to this unfortunate anomaly. ALHAMDULILLAH, this yielded positive results and AMMA was then added accordingly. On behalf of the people of AMMA, I say a AYEKOO to Mr President.
Nonetheless, the Asokore Mamponghene, His Royal Highness, Nana Boakye Ansah Debra, upon hearing this and with a request for a land for this project, has gladly released 19.9 acres of land which is even bigger than the the 15 acres of land originally requested for this project. To Nana Asokore Mamponghene, *Onyame mma wo nnyini nky3!*
*Supposed Boabai Hospital Land*
There have been series of meetings between Kenyasehene, MP, my predecessor, Hon. Nuru Hamdan and myself. At those meetings, a lot of issues were raised to the point that documents that were supposed to have been left at the office for me to make a case were rather left at the mercy of the social media. Permit me to state unequivocally that my predecessor, Hon. Mr Hamdan Nurudeen, never handed over any document what so ever in relation to the *supposed plot earmarked for a hospital project.* Neither does it exist in letter or file at the AMMA to serve as reference to this matter. Again, let’s not lose sight of the fact that chiefs play integral part of governance. The Kenyasehene has spoken about the issue and whoever has any action take contrary to that should endeavour to know the channel through which the matter must be addressed appropriately and not the very doorstep of the Hon. MCE who has no power to allocate lands. My doors are still open if he wants to come back and make amends in this regards. Until then, any attempt to score cheap political gains shall always fall flat.
Thank you and may God bless you all.
