A young businessman cum philanthropist has pulled up to contest for the seat of an elected assembly man for Abore-Ebom electoral area of the Amansie West District.
Blessing Akwasi Poku, a native of Abore has lived in the diaspora for years and has now touched base to salvage residents from the litany of developmental challenges characterising the area.
A showcase of his preparedness to support people living in the area is currently in a full swing.
In the interim, he has financed the grading of road at Kramokrom, financed the enrollment of over 400 residents of Kramokrom and Ebom onto the National Health Insurance Scheme, donated a collosal number of shoes to students of Abore Primary School.
He has also donated hair dryers to over 200 youth who have embarrassed hair dressing as a profession.
Blessing Akwasi Poku told www.leakynews.net that he is set to donate an ambulance to serve the electoral area plus other logistics to support health delivery.
He added that he will soon build an AstroTurf in the electoral area and also support students with laptops.
Owing to the foregoing, Blessing Akwasi Poku is gradually massing up his electoral fortunes as a great number of residents have thrown their support for him.
He told this medium, that the bad state of affairs of the electoral area is what provoked him to contest for the seat.
Considering the level of developmental challenges, he sadly mentioned that Abore-Ebom electoral area presently looks as though it doesn’t fall within the jurisdiction of government.
He named some of the challenges as poor lightning system, bad roads, lack of ambulance among others, stating past and present elected assembly men have proved fiasco in lobbying for developmental projects for the area.
“I am ready to risk my life and resources to help this electoral area”.
