Loyalists of Bekwai MP Joe Wise descend on detractors over “begging for vote” allegation

Our attention has been drawn to a supposed Press Release to all Media Houses issued on the 29th May, 2020 signed by Katakyie Opoku Agyemang, Michael Effah, Seth Amoako, Francis Fordjour and Nana Kwame who are ardent supporters of a disqualified Parliamentary aspirant in the Bekwai Constituency.

In the said release, they stated among other things that Rt. Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu who is the MP for Bekwai and 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament is moving round begging some high ranking officials of the New Patriotic Party at the National level to save his seat to the extent that he has taken his plea personally to the President of the Republic H.E Nana Addo to intervene on his behalf and use executive fiat to prevail over the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP to allow him stand unopposed in the upcoming Parliamentary primaries in the Bekwai Constituency.

We find this very ridiculous and an attempt by fair or foul means to bring the name of our MP and 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament into disrepute.
This is a political brigandage and a monumental dehydration of both National and International reputation of Rt. Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu.

We want to state categorically that NO such an attempt has been made by the Rt. Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu.
It is on record that Rt. Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu is the sole aspirant in the Constituency who qualified at the vetting at the Regional level supervised by John Boadu (General Secretary), Bernard Antwi Bosiako (Regional Chairman), Samuel Pyne (Regional Secretary), Alhaji Aziz Futa (National NASARA Cordinator) and Gary Nimako (Constitutional Lawyer).

As it stands now nothing has changed from the Vetting Committee’s verdict therefore it would be absurd in the widest of any imagination to think that a sole candidate will move round begging high ranking officials to save his seat.

The undersigned signatories of the said Press Release are a bunch of selfish individuals who seek their personal interests to the detriment of the masses. They don’t even care if their utterances will sow seeds of discord in the Party and the Bekwai Constituency at large.

In their desperate attempt to tarnish the image of Rt. Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu to the advantage of their disqualified aspirant, they planned to fabricate these lies against the MP and the President.
We are not surprised that one of the signatories to the Press release, Katakyie Opoku Agyemang whose real name is Kingsley Kwame Opoku Agyemang quickly made a U-turn to distant himself from the said Press release.
This goes to confirm that these persons are not credible and as such the said release should be treated with the contempt it deserves and thrown to the garbage.
Attached are voices of their cohorts Joseph Owusu Dwumaa (Sir Joe) who is the Producer for their Radio program on a local radio Station in Bekwai and Francis Fordjour (who is a signatory to their Press Release and who also granted their first interview on a Kumasi based Angel FM) from their platform when their plan failed.
Voices: 1. Joseph Owusu Dwumaa (Sir Joe) after their plan failed.
2. Francis Fordjour beg for calm after their plan failed.
3. Francis Fordjour on Angel FM speaking to their Press release
4. Joseph Owusu Dwumaa (Sir Joe) on their radio program (confirmation of his voice)

In conclusion we would like to state without any shred of doubt that the monumental developments in Bekwai under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu as MP in areas such as road infrastructure, health facilities, school infrastructure, extension of electricity, human resource development and all other sectors of the economy are in full glare of the good people of Bekwai Constituency and as such they are ready and willing to renew his mandate as the Member of Parliament and that of H.E Nana Addo as the President.
