Kumasi Mayor (Hon Osei Assibey) renovates and hands over old KMA court

The Old Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Circuit court has been renovated and handed over to officials of the Ghana Judiciary Service.

A contractual amount less than GH 10,000 was injected into the revamping of the facility after it was awarded to Gold Print Company.

Though rehabilitation was completed somewhere last year 2019, officials couldn’t operate it for judicial services for six months because it was not equipped with furniture.

An official request put before the Mayor for the Metropolis Hon Osei Assibey regarding the provision of fittings plus other necessary logistics has however yielded a positive response as he (Mayor) has facilitated the complete furnishing of the court.

The court is currently fitted out with items including 20 benches for court room (5-seater), 6  chairs, 6 tables, 2 book shelves, 1 set of desktop computer, 2 chairs and tables for lawyers and court clerks and a witness/accused box. It is now fit for operation.

Metro Director for Planning Agyeman Michael informed www.leakynews.net on the above in an exclusive interview after the handing over event.
