Kumasi City Mayor Flies To Abuja, Engages ECOWAS Officials In A 2-Day Meeting

Kumasi City Mayor Hon Osei Assibey Antwi has flown out of the country to Abuja, Republic of Nigeria.

The move is a response to an official invitation which was extended to him on 9th March 2021 to partake in a consultative meeting of Decentralized Stakeholders (State Governors, Chairperson of District Council, Mayors of City) on ECOWAS Vision 2050.

The diplomatic event kick-started today 29th March and it’s scheduled to close on 30th March 2021.

The meeting will bring together decentralized stakeholders to discuss the role cities and towns within member states could play for the creation of a fully integrated, peaceful and prosperous ECOWAS for the benefit of all community citizens.

It forms part of consultations being undertaken to gather inputs for the development of the post 2020 vision of ECOWAS (which will be referred to as ECOWAS Vision 2050).
