The construction of a 44-seater toilet facility and a 20-apartment washrooms under a BOT agreement at Krofrom East electoral area has been completed.
They (facilities) were commissioned for utilization on Wednesday 10th November 2021 by the Kontihene for Old Tafo Nana Nuamah Tiboa after undergoing a 3 months contract duration.
The commissioning witnessed the attendants of political executives, residents, traditional and religious leaders drawn from the electoral area.
Addressing the gathering, elected assembly man for the area Hon Patrick Kwame Frimpong said the duo are a replacement of an old and dilapidated public lavatory which was constructed 20 years ago.
He explained that it suffered several renovations during the tenure of previous assembly members and it is currently in a poor and an outmoded state.
Through his instrumentality, he said that the assembly saw the need to put up a new and a befitting facility as a substitution by partnering with a private developer as part of government’s Public Private Partnership policy.
Speaking on behalf of the Kumasi City Mayor Hon Sam Pyne, Deputy Coordinating Director for KMA said the assembly is aimed enhancing the sanitary situation of the metropolis hence the construction of the facilities.
She therefore urged residents of the electoral area to make good use of the lavatory and the washrooms by exercise a culture of maintenance.
