Korean national takes on Chief over $390,000 deal



Chief of Akyem-Afiesa, a community within Akyem Abuakwa traditional area Nana Otafrigya Agyemang Kumanin II has come under pressure.

A Korean national named Mr. Danny Kweon Young Hak has initiated a legal action against him for allegedly outsmarting him of an amount of 390,000 dollars.

The former as alleged by the later took the said money from him on the pretext of offering him a concession for small scale mining business.

The Chief as stated by the Korean disclosed he owns the concession and per the agreement was going to partner him in the business.

“He presented to me documents which according to him (Chief) covers the land”, he disclosed.


The Korean continued that Nana Otafrigya claimed the concession was initially serving the purpose of a small scale mining but assured to convert it for a large scale mining for the sake of the partnership.

Mr. Danny Kweon Young Hak narrating his ordeal disclosed that after making payment for the concession, he later realized that the documents presented by the chief were fake and that nothing proved in the documents that the said concession belonged to the traditional leader.

Realizing he had been deceived, he reported the matter to the Accra CID headquarters for the necessary action.
