Police have arrested fifteen traders in Kumasi just this morning Wednesday 1st April 2020 for flouting President’s directive vis-à-vis the two weeks lockdown.

They were captured by security forces of Kuamsi Zongo police station at “Dr. Mensah“, a commercial area where they usually carry out their trade.

13 women and 2 men making up the total number are currently at the Zongo police station and will afterwards be moved to the Regional headquarters where they will be processed for court.

Briefing leakynews.net, special aide to the mayor of Kumasi Mr. George Opoku Amponsah disclosed that on Monday, officials of the assembly barricaded the whole of Dr. Mensah market after the authorities realized that traders in the area were not complying with the social distancing precaution.

Shockingly, when authorities of the assembly went round this morning to inspect the area, they realized that tapes used for the barricade had been demolished by the merchants and were busily going about their business as usual.
