We all have different bodies, but some people have characteristics that others do not have.
One of those unique characteristics are the holes on your lower back, otherwise referred to as ‘the dimple of Venus’
Back dimples indentations on your lower back are a fairly common cosmetic feature.
They are caused by short ligaments connecting your pelvis to your skin, but they have no medical implications. Not only are they harmless, but they can even be considered a sign of beauty, especially in women.
Depending on whether it is a woman or a man they are called ‘Venus holes’ or ‘Apollo holes’.
The dimples are located in the place where the pelvic bone connects to the spine. There are no muscles or subcutaneous tissue there.
If the dimples are visible, it means you are not overweight and probably lead a healthy life.
They are perceived to be a sign of beauty, alluding to Venus, the Roman goddess of beauty.
