Chairman “Wontumi”, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) has set the record straight by saying that he is not a bit ashamed of how badly he speaks the Queen’s language.
“I use my bad English to win power and secure viable jobs for people who have certificates and speak all the good English to put food on the table of their families” he said..
He again said that ” my bad English won power for the people with certificates to go and work in the government under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo”.
“As a politician and a businessman, I am not perturbed I speak bad English but what I am proud of is how I have been able to use my bad English to win power and create jobs for the people who have the certificates.
I use my bad English to make things work in the party for the people with the certificates to find their feet, he added.
My bad spoken English has created opportunities for certain people in the party for that matter people outside the party, he stressed.
These people for ages who styled themselves as having all the qualifications and certificates have not created a single opportunity for the people who look up to them in the region.”
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako otherwise referred to as Chairman ‘Wutonmi’ made these comments when he was speaking on Accra-based Okay FM’s morning show hosted by Kwame Nkrumah Tikese.
‘Not even their immediate family people have directly benefited from the certificates and qualifications they parade around.
It is worthy of note that it is my own people within the NPP who go about denigrating my personality because of the upcoming internal contest” he added.
