Acting City Mayor for Kumasi Metropolis Hon Osei Assibey has expressed much worry over how majority of the citizenry are not proud of Ghana.
He said on Tuesday that God blessed Ghana so much in the likes of peaceful coexistence, notably cordial relationship between Christians and Muslims and that most neighboring countries attest to that.
“Go to Nigeria and all other places. All they are saying is that God has blessed our country but we who sit in this country are not proud of our country. Let us change our attitude”.
“There is one thing I like about Americans. The Americans are so proud of their country but we Ghanaians are not proud of our country Ghana”, he noted.
Hon Assibey continued state that “there are a lot things that we are doing which other countries are learning from. This is a country where we have a Muslim as Vice President and the President as a Christian…This is a country where the Chief Imam can freely meet with the Christian clergy to have a meeting. Those at the top are behaving this way. What are those who are at the bottom also doing”.
Hon Osei raised this statement in Kumasi at a prayer gathering of Ahmadiya Muslims as they celebrated Eid Mubarak.
