Acting Municipal Chief Executive Officer for Asokore Mampong Hon Alhaji Alidu Seidu has disclosed that he came under vicious attacks when news came up that the assembly has commenced a collaboration with the Netherlands government to execute the much talked about NBU Project.
He lamented that he was heavily castigated and lambasted by detractors who had the wrong perception that “a chunk of money is given to me as the MCE. So I was the most vilified person on the basis of that mindset.”
Hon Alidu however defended that nobody has given him a dime since the collaboration.
“… today, let me stand here and say that the Union between SOS Netherlands/European Union and Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly had not given me a dime. We have all come together to make sure that we solve our own problems.
The issue of getting people every now and then going out to seek greener pastures will not help. Most of our people through the Mediterranean Sea end up dyeing and we cannot afford to allow our people to continue going and dyeing. If we allow that to happen, who will be there to see to the development of mother Ghana”, he underlined sorrowfully during the handing over of start-up tool kits to trainees of the No Business as Usual (NBU) Project on Saturday 17th July 2021.
