I Don’t Allow My Kids To Watch TV Because of These Stations- Otokunor

Outspoken Deputy National Secretary for the NDC, Peter Boamah Otokunor has disclosed that he does not allow his children to watch TV these days due to the advertisement of money rituals on majority of TV stations in Ghana.

He made this statement as a guest on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ program this morning when he was giving his version of opinion on the upsurge of ritual killings in Ghana.

“For me nowadays, I don’t allow my kids to watch television because you wouldn’t know which of the TV station they are going to end up watching when you are not around.

You will see someone on a television station advertising and chanting for money to appear. This program influences the youth to go for this ‘sakawa’ money which results in ritual killings.” – he noted.

He indicated in his conclusion that; “this is the time for us to discuss the broadcasting bill which will help curtail these unscrupulous media houses from advertising these programs on their stations.”
