“I am not a coward” – Haruna Idrisu

Minority leader and Member of Parliament for the Tamale South constituency has sent a strong word to the Ghana police service and the ruling NPP indicating that, he is not a coward and will not never be one.

Addressing the media at the foyer of parliament, the minority leader spoke at the back of a court case by the state against 20 minority members of parliament who marched to the office of the EC to present a petition to the chairperson over the Techiman South parliamentary results.

The honourable minority MPs who joined the possession were expected to be in court for flouting the public order act but didn’t turn up because of the fact that they said none of the participants of the possession have been served to appear before the court.

He made an indication that, he only saw the news on social media this morning and he does not respond to social media invitations as a true law abiding citizen.

“The police is being used by the ruling government as a tool of manipulation and I am not a coward as I have said time without number”.

Again, he said some persons are trying to paint a gloomy picture of the minority MPs and make it appear as though they are not law abiding citizens, but we will use the judiciary to fight against them.

The Accra circuit court 11 has adjourned the case to the 19th of January, 2021.
