Ghanaian politician Percival Kofi Akpaloo has kicked against the call by members of parliament for the dismissal of the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta over charges of corruption and economic mismanagement.

The sacking of the Minister of State for Finance Charles Adu Boahen by the President over allegations of impropriety according to founder and leader of Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) will still yield no positive outcome vis-à-vis the performance of the ministry.

Speaking to www.leakynews.net in an exclusive dialogue, outspoken Akpaloo stated that what the President needs to do is a total overhaul of the entire finance ministry.

He gave explanations that the problem has nothing to do with the finance minister. “He has done nothing wrong”.

“It has to do with the technocrats at the ministry and the reason is; the delivery of Ken Ofori Atta is based on recommendations from the technocrats at the ministry. What they recommend is what he implements”.

“We have to sack some away and bring on new faces who know what it takes to manage our finance ministry”, he recommended.

“if we are serious as a country, then we have to overhaul the ministry”, he reiterated.

“…if you change Ken Ofori Atta and bring anybody who cannot overhaul the ministry then we are going to get the same result.”

The LPG founder underlined that, the above is what he will consider the foremost if he gets the opportunity to become the President of Ghana.
