Not less than 20 people have been shot to death by gunmen who stormed a cattle market in eastern Burkina Faso.
The sad incident specifically occurred at Kompienga last Saturday. According to eyewitness reports, the gunmen who were on motor bikes fired into a crowded market in the middle of the day. State security is yet to find out those behind the act.
However, authorities are shifting blames on terrorists as the cause for the barbaric act.
Notwithstanding the sporadic claims by government regarding success against the Islamist militants, the insecurity in the north and east of Burkina Faso has dramatically heightened.
