The former Chief Executive for Asokore Mampong Municipality Alhaji Alidu Seidu and the former NADMO Director for Ashanti region Hon Kwabena Senkyire have openly endorsed Vice President Dr. Bawumia as the only candidate fit to take the position as NPP’s 2024 Presidential candidate.
As party executives and members are vigorously lazing their boots to showcase their political allegiance for candidates of their choice who are contesting for the flagbearership position in the upcoming Super Delegates elections scheduled for August 26th this year, the duo have set the record straight that Dr. Bawumia deserves a massive support from delegates.
The foregoing according to them owes to the indelible and remarkable contributions he has scored so far as the vice president of Ghana.
Joining them in the above political move was the former MCE for Suame Municipality Prof. Osei Bobie.
The trio joined a group of NPP grassroot supporters called “Die-Hard Supporters of Bawumia” in Ashanti region at a press briefing held on Thursday at the Kumasi Cultural center.
The agenda for the press engagement was to use the occasion to call on party delegates especially founding fathers of NPP to vote massively for the Vice President.
In an interview with the media, Hon Alidu Seidu mentioned that failure on the part of NPP delegates to vote Dr. Bawumia into office as the 2024 Presidential candidate “will fulfill a prophesy by Ex-President John Dramami Mahama that NPP will never allow Dr. Bawumia to lead the party because he is not an Akan”.
“That must not happen”, he added.
In the light of the foregoing, Hon Alidu Seidu strongly admonished all delegates to prove Mahama wrong.
“Bringing Dr. Bawumia will make things easy for the party come 2024 general elections”.
He described Dr. Bawumia as a unifier, one whose campaign comments are not riddled with insults, a visionary and the only candidate who when elected as the Presidential candidate will make the breaking the 8 mantra a reality.
