The famous church of Pentecost is one of the biggest and fastest growing church in the world.
The church as fate may have it has been blessed with so many God fearing leaders who have greatly contributed to the growth of the church.The Church as it stands has over 3 million members.
However, one of the remarkable and renowned leadership of the church is Apostle Professor Opoku Onyina who is the 5th chairman of the Church of Pentecost and the immediate past Chairman.
Below lies the biography of the Apostle Opoku Onyina
Joseph Judas Kodwo Nimfour Opoku Onyina,officially known as Apostle Professor Kwodwo Nimfour Opoku Onyina was born to Mr.Kwame Onyina and Mrs Rebecca Akosua Addai on July 22nd 1954.
He currently holds a doctor of philosophy degree in theological studies from the university of Birmingham (2000)and a master of Applied theory from Regent Theological College.
He joined the ministry of the church of Pentecost in the year 1976 and fortunately he was the last Apostle to have walked with the founder of the church Of Pentecost, Pastor James McKeown.
In his decision to join the church,it landed him in numerous vital positions in the church of which he used it to impact the young generation and contributed to the growth of the church.
Some key positions he served includes, Rector of Pentecost University College, Executive Council Member and An International Missions Director.
In addition, he also served as a Co-chairman of Empowered 21 Africa from 2013,the advisory board member on International Review Mission since 2013.He was also a member of the Committee of world Pentecostal Theologians in dialogue with the Catholic Church Since 2011.
While he also served as a member of the commission on world mission and and Evangelism of world churches since 2007,a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Pentecost Theology since 2007.
And took the position of a chairman in 2008 from Apostle Dr.Micheal K. Ntumy and handed over to the current chairman, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye in 2018.
Apostle Professor Opoku Onyina is married to Madam Grace Adwapa Onyina and they are blessed with 5 children.
