Emmanuel SDA Church supplies GHs7,000 food items to members in Kumasi



The leadership of Emmanuel SDA Church, a Christian denomination located at Buokrom within the Manhyia South District has supplied food items worth GHs 7000 to members of the church.

The focus of the foreging act of charity which was carried out today 10 April 2020 was to salvage vulnerable church members from the heat of any possible starvation likely to emanate from the three weeks lockdown imposed on some parts of Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi under presidential directive.

The relief items were 36 mini bags of rice and 165 bottles of sun flower oil.

The supply took the form of a house-to-house donation as some executives of the church visited and presented the foodstuff to members of the church in their various homes.


It was done in areas including Buokrom Estate, Buokrom South Africa, Kenyase, Adwumam, Achiase, Duase among others.

Head Pastor for the Church Mr. Nyames3m Poku briefed that the collosal number of food items was realised through an accumulated contributions made by some well-to-do members and a financial support tapped from the coffers of the church.

He disclosed that, the COVID-19 pandemic coupled with the lockdown has brought untold hardship to several lives across the globe.

A number of church members he underlined won’t be able to move out for business as usual to make money to feed themselves and their families.

The leadership of the church he stated therefore saw the need to assist the poor within them by offering them the items.
