Don’t be scared when a lion confronts you. Just do these to survive it’s attack

Being chased by a lion when you are on foot is highly frightening.

It is very difficult to stop yourself from bolting, but that is likely to prompt an attack. A lion charge is usually accompanied by a deep growling sound that reverberates through your very core.

It may be possible for you to accidentally come across a lion especially if you normally go to the forest.

But for you to be able to survive the attack of a lion, you have to follow these 2 steps given below.

First of all, Do not approach too closely, especially in the case of mating lions or lionesses with cubs, they are very dangerous.

Different circumstances trigger different behaviour. During courtship, male lions are often extremely aggressive and should not be approached, even in a vehicle.

And another thing you need to know is that Fear of humans is now a key factor that drives lion behavior, studies find.

Some lions in the wild now live within a “landscape of fear” as a result of threats posed by humans So that is a big advantage for us humans.

Today, It is estimated that over 250 people are killed by lions every year. Man-eating lions studies indicate that African lions eat humans as a supplement to other food, not as a last resort.

Step 1: Stand your ground (don’t run)

You will be extremely frightened if you’re being charged by a lion but do not panic or try to run away.

Staying calm will help you think straight, which can help save your life.

What to do next?

Retreat slowly: do not turn back while retreating but continue facing the lion while clapping your hands, shouting and waving your arms around to make yourself look bigger. Most charges are mock charges, so you will usually be fine.

 

Step 2: fight the attack

If the above step doesn’t work for you, the next option is to fight the lion. If the ‘lion’ still charges after all your tricks, you have to remain standing.

The ‘lion’ will like to go for your face or throat, so you have to be careful.

What to do next?

Wait for the animal to jump at you, then punch or kick the lion as it leaps at you. Ensure to hit it on the face, aim for the head and eyes as you continue to fight the predator off.

Lions are said to be kings of the jungle but Lions sometimes become the victims of their intended prey.

There have been instances in which lions have been killed by giraffe, buffalo, kudu, snakes and even porcupines.
