Tailors and dress makers at Asawase of the Asokore Mampong Municipality have received training from officials of the No Business as Usual (NBU) Project on digital marketing.
Their capacity was built on how to utilize the various social media platforms and apps to promote their products and services so as to maximize profit as they reach a larger market.
They numbered close to 30 and were all members of the Ghana National Tailors and Dress Makers Association- Asawase zone.
The training was held on Saturday 24th April 2021 at Asawase.
Participants were taken through the relevance of digital marketing, how to share products and services via social media, development of posting strategies, application of critical thinking in their business among others.
Aside the above, they were also equipped with knowledge on how to keep records in the daily running of their business.
Presentations on the former and the latter areas of training were carried out by facilitators; Ebenezer Obeng and Hamid Abdul Mumin respectively.
In his presentation on digital marketing, Ebenezer Obeng advised them on economical usage of their communication devices (phones) as they access social media portals to promote of their business.
He clearly spelt out that participants should not use their phones for only calls but should tap into other digital avenues to attract the attention of the masses to override their competitors.
Ebenezer Obeng also schooled them on how they can align their products to suite the demand and taste of customers.
In an interview, Chairman for the association Shamwill Adam Osman thanked officials of NBU for the training, admitting that the training they received will increase their financial earnings.
He pledged to ensure the effective utilization of the knowledge gained by members of the association.
