The Ashanti Chapter Secretary of Ghana National Association Of Small Scale Miners Kwaku Adu Gyamfi believes time is up for Ghanaians to embrace changes confronting our social structure as a result of COVID 19.
To him the national focus on the disease alone with little attention to the social matters arising amid the pandemic could be a disincentive to fighting the menace.
Reacting to President’s appeal to the general public over private burial of dead relatives to ease mortuary congestion and our inability to practise social distancing are all instances attributable to the concern raised.
He is worried about how people continue to postpone funerals of relatives any time the ban on funeral is extended.
Mr. Kwaku Adu Gyamfi suggests that we need to reform most of our social systems and events as a nation considering moral lessons bequeathing to us by virtue of COVID 19.
He therefore urged people keeping dead relatives in motuaries waiting for the lift of ban on funeral before burial to reconsider this decison.
