Covid-19; Odike fires information Minister over President’s corona status

Mr Akwasi Addai Odike has challenged the content of the letter issued by the Information Minister in relation to the 14 days “precautionary self-isolation” embarked by the President of Ghana.

On the 4th of July 2020, Ghana’s information Minister Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah signed a letter, informimg Ghanaians that the President of Ghana was embarking on a fourteen-day self isolation from the 4th of July 2020 in compliance with the covid-19 protocols.

The letter went on state that, “He (President) has as at today (4th July), tested negative but has elected to take this measure out of the abundance of caution”.

Rebutting the latter content, the National Chairman, founder and leader for United Progressive Party (UPP) Mr Akwasi Addai Odike has asserted that the claimed covid-19 status (negative) as highlighted in the letter contradicts the reality.

Mr. Odike hit the nail on the head by rubbishing the statement as untrue, defending that the President would not have gone into isolation if he truly tested negative for the virus.

The opposition leader went on to defend that subjection to isolation is for persons who have tested positive for covid-19 and that ” those who test negative are only quarantined covering the incubation period of the coronavirus. Once you have been asked to go on isolation it means you have contracted the virus”.

He told www.leakynews.net exclusively that the whole statement by the Information Minister on the Corona status of the President is a total fallacy.

“The statement that came out that the President tested negative for the virus is not true”, he boldly said.

According to the popular businessman cum politician, the content of the letter is a political agenda masterminded by executives of the NPP to shield the President.

He has challenged His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo to come out and tell Ghanaians the truth about his state.

“Shielding him is not the best”, he added.
