Markets at Nkawie and other parts of the Ashanti Region were disinfected last Friday in an exercise meant to prevent the spread of coronavirus(COVID-19) pandemic.
It was organised by the Ministry of Local Government in conjunction with the National Mosquito Control Programme, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group.
Hundreds of Zoomloin personnel equipped with various spraying equipment containing chlorine solution, were deployed across the region before 6a.m for the disinfection which lasted for over five hours.
The exercise was carried out at markets located at Nkawie, Sepaase,, Maakro, Agogo, Manhyia and Abuakwa.
The Chief Exercutive Officer for Atwima Nwabiagya South Hon. Micheal Amoah Awuku, Officials from NADMO and Security personnel supervised the exercise.
Hon. Amoah Awuku expressed joy over the smooth nature of the exercise.
“We thank President Akufo-Addo for his intervention. We are dermined to clean the cities and towns for the safety of people”.
