COVID-19 Vaccine; KMA Boss’ Aide Fires “Odike” For Inciting Ashantis

Right – thinking Ghanaians, both home and abroad are applauding the effort of the Akufo Addo government for securing the COVAX facility of 600,000 doses of AstraXeneca vaccine in such an expeditious manner in the fight against the Corona Virus pandemic.

The leadership, shown by the executive to be the first to receive the vaccine in the full glare of the media is another novelty to be cherished.

On the other hand, there is a disturbing trend in which some media houses have allowed politicians to wade into the discourse of whether the vaccine is efficacious or otherwise.

The irony is that, people like Akwasi Addai Odike, leader of United Front Party (UFP), Mr. Wallace Ababio, NDC Communicator and some other opposition elements have found their scientific lenses and zooming into the pros and cons of vaccines with fatuous arguments in their quest to court the disaffection of Ghanaians for the AstraXeneca vaccine.

The hollow arguments being advanced by these persons, obviously bourne out of sheer political mischief and ignorance is not only sickening, but one that must be an issue of concern to the National Security.

Advertently inciting listeners of OTEC FM on Monday, 1st March, 2021 on the late afternoon political show, Dwabrem, not to accept the vaccine is incomprehensible, to say the least.

I humbly wish to implore the producers of the various talk shows, to empanel experts in the field of medicine to advance the most appropriate arguments backed by scientific inclinations and not the super gibberish Odike-Wallace rhetorics.

As a citizen, I will not allow the illusions of some nation wreckers to derail the efforts of the NPP government in the fight against COVID-19 which has earned global acclamation.
