Executives of a Kumasi-based benevolent group called Classy Ladies have donated a cash amount of GHs 10,000 to one its members.
Doreen who is a widow and financially hard-pressed received the cash on Friday plus food items including 2 bags of rice, cooking oil, box of sardine, gari, pack of milk, yam, Pampers among others.
After presenting the items, secretary for the group Madam Abigail Attakorah Amaniampong said the gesture was a reflection of the objective for the formation of the group.
It was also done as part of the celebration of the groups one year anniversary which fell this month.
The secretary indicated that since its inception, executives and members are poised towards supporting vulnerable members and non-members.
She explained that they believe that there is much blessing in giving than receiving, hence the need to offer a helping hand to the needy.
