Bosome Freho: Former MP Breaks Ground For Road Construction, Attacks DCE For Sabotaging Her Projects

 

 

The immediate past Member of Parliament for Bosome Freho Constituency Hon Joyce Adwoa Akoh Dei has broken ground for the construction of a 19-Kilometer road network stretching from Asiwa community to Nsuayem No.2.

Though lost the 2020 parliamentary elections to her contender, she underlined that the move is a fulfilment of some developmental promises she made during her four years term in office as the Member of Parliament.

The project has been re-awarded to a new construction firm AMARCO CONSTRUCTION LTD, explaining that the abrogation of the initial contract came to play after the first awardee who was given the project on the 12th of February 2020 failed to turn up to start the construction of the road.

 

Addressing the media, the out gone Member of Parliament gave details that the first contractor was badly influenced by some authorities to delay the commencement of the project and succeeded in sabotaging her chances of winning last year’s parliamentary elections.

She spilled the bean further that when she was in office as the MP for Asiwa constituency, she lobbied for a litany of projects for the area, some which are still ongoing.

She said most of them were strongly sabotaged by the District Chief Executive Officer for the area…..siting Odumasi CHIP COMPOUND as an example, hence was therefore unable to complete them.

“But you can’t stop Joyce. When Joyce wants to do something, she does it regardless”, she told the media.

The ground-breaking event was well attended by Chiefs and Queens of communities including Nsuaem No. 2, Domena, Asiwa,Anyinase among others.

Construction firm in charge of the project as will start work within the first week of February 2021 and that the stretch of road will be overlaid with bitumen.

Same will be done for areas such as Minti, Twease including other areas.

Aside the road construction, Hon Joyce Adwoa Akoh pledged to complete other projects which she left behind uncompleted.

They are community centers located in areas including Damacus, Brofoyedu, Anyaso, Freso, Abosamso, etc.

Contractor Mr. Kwadwo Adjei Marwuah promised that he will begin the construction within the first week of February as indicated and will complete the project on time.

Queen for Anyinase community Nana Akua Aboagyewa II thanked the MP for the support, describing her action as unprecedented.

“This has never happened before; an MP, loosing elections and coming back few weeks after election to complete projects she left behind?”.

She called on God to grant her wisdom and strength to carry out what she has for the constituency.
