“Be Tolerant With Parents On School Fees Payment”- GNACOPS Tells Private Schools

The office other Executive Director other Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS), has urged Private School operators across the country, to be patient and accommodating of parents, who may have some challenges with School Fees payment, amidst the necessary fee increments.

We all know the economic conditions we have found ourselves in as a country, in recent times. The increments in everything on the market, has made it practically impossible for schools to continue operating at the same cost incurred last year.
Because Private Schools have no financial support from anywhere, but use their internally generated funds (fees) to run the school, it has become a necessity, for schools to review their fees upwards, to save themselves from collapse.

The teaming population of Private Schools staff, whose livelihoods are dependent on what they earn from the jobs, have had to also suffer the unfriendly economic waves of recent times, and need salary adjustment, to help improve their current conditions. It is prudent that schools make some adjustment in their fees.

We however encourage schools to be considerate of the challenges of our parents in these reviews, and put in place, flexible payment plans, for parents who may have challenges in making outright fees payments, as expected.

We encourage parents to make the necessary adjustments, to enable them support the schools by honouring whatever payment obligations they have towards their ward’s schools, to empower the schools to continue delivering quality education.

It is our prayer that, God will continue to bless our homeland Ghana, and make the economic conditions better, for our collective peace. Thank you.

Signed
*Obenfo Enoch K. Gyetuah*
National Executive Director, GNACOPS.
