BAD OMEN!!! Cocoa Farmers Reiterate Decision To Stage Protest On Farmers’ Day

Cocoa farmers in Ghana have reiterated their long planned decision to stage a protest against COCOBOD officials and for that matter government in the soon coming Farmers’ Day celebration.

On Wednesday 3rd November 2021, embittered farmers openly coughed out their annoyance against officials in Kumasi following their (officials) failure to address their welfare, hence their resolution to riddle and mar the beauty of the upcoming Farmers’ day event with what they have described as an unabated demonstration this coming Friday.

Speaking to www.leakynews.net, National President for Ghana National Cocoa Farmers Association (GNACOFA) Rev Dr. Oheneba Nyarko said that until the rank and file of COCOBOD effect measures to address the poor condition of their welfare, nothing will stop or discourage them from embarking on the protest effective from 1st to 4th December 2021.

Rev Nyarko disclosed that the association has issued a directive, urging members to clad themselves with red bands and red shirts as they turn up at areas marked as venue for the farmers’ day celebration at their respective districts.

He said “we have also called on all our members to suspend the selling of all their farm produce and cocoa beans on the market.”
